Problem

Passing a user's search text straight into an FTS5 MATCH query fails on ordinary input: a stray double quote gives 'unterminated string', and a hyphenated word like node-gyp gives 'no such column: gyp'.

Solution

MATCH takes FTS5 query syntax, where " starts a phrase, - and : have special meaning, and AND/OR/NOT/NEAR are operators. Do not pass raw text. Split it into words yourself, wrap each word in double quotes (doubling any quote inside), and join with OR or spaces (AND): "node" OR "gyp" OR "rebuild". Always bind the query as a parameter.
